Here at the Crystal Cauldron we have our own Pet (literally) Charity, the details of which follows:
The Heatons Animal Rescue Group - Cat Sanctuary
The Heatons Animal Rescue Group is a relatively new charity "born" out of dedicated workers who for many years have given of our time and effort to help animals in whatever way possible.
Since our humble beginings we have opened a Charity shop(0161 975 0784) in Heaton Chapel, Stockport and from our Sanctuary there, we have in the last seven years re-homed about 3,500 animals. We mostly deal with Cats and Kittens as the Sanctuary is not suitable for Dogs. We have just expanded at the back of the premises and eventually a kennels somewhere where the noise of dogs is acceptable.
In the meantime the group will continue to care for our "non-feline" charges in the "Mini Sanctuaries" within our helpers homes.
Our aims within the Group are similar to many of the Animal Charity Societies, to feed, give veterinary treatment where necessary, neuter/spay where appropriate and then re-home to responsible people who will care for the animals with the same care and attention as we would.
Where we differ. is that unlike some other Societies, we will NOT take age or cost of treatment into consideration when determining which animal should be rescued!!!!
If the quality of life is acceptable for the animal we will endeavour to pay for whatever treatment is necessary and if, maybe due to age of the animal a home is not easily forthcoming, we will care for it at our Animal Shelter or through our network of foster carers for as long as is required.
All this costs money, we are lucky in that we have the use of our premises for nothing, but we still will have to pay for the food, vetinary charges, electricity etc. We need your help, have you any items that we can sell in our shop.
We urgently need bric-a-brac, good quality clothes etc, and can collect if necessary.
Would you be willing to help out on a regular basis in our Charity Shop ? We need dedicated people like ourselves to help us!!
