about the Artist

I've always had an interest in the outdoors, liking nothing more than a walk in the woods or to take my didgeridoo up a hill and play. More recently, especially in these times of global warming and industrialisation, computers and consumerism, I've looked more and more to the natural world for some answers to what was missing in this world around me.

I began to learn about trees, animals and plants, feed the birds (my friend Trev would love that one!) learn about ancient alphabets such as Ogham and ancient religions such as Druidry and Wicca to name a couple. Gradually a whole new world opened out before me filled with myth, magic and legends, a world that was probably second nature to our ancestors, but is largely forgotten or ignored in this hectic modern world of ours.

Cerridwen

The Welsh Celtic Goddess Cerridwen was quite interesting to sculpt as she's a smaller scale than I've produced in my Celtic/Pagan ranges in the past, also the pose was good to do with her sitting at her cauldron of Wisdom, Inspiration, Rebirth and Transformation. Her Cauldron is the right size to hold a night-light candle.

She measures 4.5 inches from top of head to base.

The Goddess Brigid

The Goddess Brigid from Irish Myth was a lovely figurine to sculpt. She is the Goddess of many things including;

Inspiration, Blacksmiths, Poets, Healing, Spring and Fire to name a few. She is painted in Spring greens with hints of yellow and deep red.

She has a ‘Brigids Cross' pendant around her neck. I'm really pleased with the way she's turned out.

She measures 12.5 inches tall

Odin

With his Raven topped staff decorated with The Runes and his wide brimmed hat covering his missing eye, this is my interpretation of the Norse God Odin in his wanderer aspect. Again, this is a smaller scale figure measuring approximately 7 inches tall, so he'll fit nicely on an alter or a bookshelf!
